Welcome to The Long Island Fingerstyle Guitar Club. This website lists information about our monthly meetings and guitar music events on and around the Long Island , NY area that may be of interest to our members. This website will be a way to connect with other guitarists so that you can learn and grow in the art of acoustic guitar playing.

The Long Island Guitar Club was formed in February 2008 with a goal of providing a forum where fingerstyle guitarists can become part of a community to network, trade and play songs, and to learn more about the acoustic guitar. The club is for players of all levels .

Monthly meetings will start off with a presenter and there will be either a concert, or a workshop that focuses on a particular aspect of the guitar. 

After the presentation the group will have break out sessions. Each group will divide up according to skill level to form a song circle in which members take turns at playing an instrumental they might be working on. Players of all skills are invited to bring their guitars  and share their skills, stories and tips with your fellow players ( you do not have to play if you are not comfortable). 

The music from the meeting will be posted on our website so that you can learn at home. There will be challenging music posted for the upcoming meetings.

Meeting are held once a month at the Westbury Friends Meeting House, 550 Post Ave. in Westbury, NY (please check calendar for dates and times). You can also sign up on our e-mail list to keep posted on upcoming meetings and events. Doors open at 6:30pm and meetings start promptly at 7:00pm.
